Mohs Micrographic Surgery

Few are the dermatologists specialized in Mohs’ surgery, especially in Lebanon & the MENA region. Mohs surgery has its indications, and when indicated, it provides the patient with highest cure rates and best cosmetic outcomes. In certain types of skin cancer, the cure rate may reach 99% with Mohs micrographic surgery compared to 76% with classic surgeries. Dr. Zeina Tannous, an American Board certified dermatologist and a Harvard-trained Mohs surgeon, performs all the Mohs surgery at our center while examining the corresponding dermatopathology specimens with an aim to eradicate at least 99% of the tumor. Dr. Tannous is also a board certified dermatopathologist; her additional fellowship training in dermatopathology adds tremendously to her unique experience in treating aggressive, recurrent and complicated skin cancers in cosmetically and functionally sensitive areas such as the face.
